How Big is Your Belly?
Pat is at the moment caring for three very young kittens.
She’s having to hand rear them as their mother will not feed them. They have to be fed regularly, but I’ve noticed they do not eat a lot at each feed.
Looking at them I realise that FatGits Law comes into play. That the amount of food you eat is proportional to the size of your belly.
It also works the other way the more you eat enlarges the belly. Which is why I can eat for England. I have seen those with figures like a Qtip that eat less food than a stick insect with an eating disorder. Now their bellies shrink. In this overweight world wouldn’t it be good if the phrase
‘eyes bigger than your belly’ were true.
Then we would all have smaller bellies and there would be no obesity.
Unless of course you are a Tarsier.
